CALIFORNIA: Crosby, Stills & Nash

Woodstock legends announce US concert dates with proceeds to charity

Supergroup Crosby, Stills & Nash perform in the USA this April with concert donations going to charity...

The legendary close harmony folk-rock trio known for songs such as Teach Your Children and Long Time Gone, including recordings and performances with Neil Young, will perform at concerts in Las Vegas and California this April with contributions going to good causes...

The influential trio can be seen on April 17 at the Table Mountain Casino in Friant, California. Crosby, Stills & Nash also appear at Agua Caliente Casino in Rancho Mirage, California on April 18. Crosby, Stills & Nash also perform at The Joint at Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada on April 20. The final US show of the reformed supergroup’s short US spring tour is at the Performing Arts Centre of San Luis Obispo on April 22.

Tickets go on sale later this week.

The critically acclaimed Crosby, Stills & Nash inspired other groups including the Eagles with their laid back country style and innovative harmony arrangements and famously appeared at the Woodstock hippy festival in 1969 as their first performance together as a trio. At Woodstock they stunned music industry onlookers and fans with the mesmerising talent they combined in what seemed an effortless and natural partnership.

The group has announced its four US concerts for April 2012 in between a tour of Australia and New Zealand. As part of the shows Crosby, Stills & Nash are donating $1 from every ticket sale to various charities, including environmental, human rights and music education charities.

Crosby, Stills & Nash also performed at the charity benefit MUSE - Musicians United for Safe Energy - at the Shoreline Amphitheatre in California last year as a benefit for Japan disaster relief as well as groups promoting non-nuclear energy.

The supergroup comprises David Crosby of the Byrds fame, Stephen Stills from Buffalo Springfield, and Graham Nash formerly of the Hollies, each accomplished musicians and uniquely talented singers, their combination has proven beguiling on each and every musical outing.

The trio occasionally joined by Neil Young as Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young have managed the feat of combining musical sophistication, laid back charm and close harmony singing into a highly commercial and yet critically applauded outcome.

Remaining true to their hippy ideals it's great to see them back and supporting some worthwhile causes as well as entertaining their loyal fans in California... and across Australasia...
